To save time or enhance work efficiency, many Windows 8 users choose to create shortcuts for the frequently-used apps on their computer desktop, while other people prefer to add some common programs to the Start Menu or the taskbar. Regarding to pinning programs to the taskbar (see the following screen shot), this text summarizes 2 methods and respectively illustrate them at length.

Way 1: Pin a program to taskbar via the app icon on the taskbar.
Example: Pin Calculator to the taskbar.
Step 1: Open Calculator through search.
Go to Search panel with Windows+F hotkeys, type calculator, choose Apps and click Calculator to open it.
Step 2: Right-click the Calculator's icon on the taskbar and select Pin this program to taskbar in the context menu.
Way 2: Pin a program to the taskbar on the Apps interface.
Step 1: Use Windows+Q hotkeys to directly access the Apps screen.
Step 2: Right-tap an app and choose Pin to taskbar on the bottom menu.
