Are there many apps, documents, and other materials on the desktop of your Windows 8/8.1 computer? If so, you must be dazzled whenever looking at them. Therefore, you can classify them and delete the useless timely, or you can add Desktop icon to the taskbar so that an orderly list of those on the desktop can be found (see picture below). Moreover, this article will show you how to add it in the following content for your better reference.

Right-tap Taskbar on the desktop, point at Toolbars in the menu and select Desktop to add it instantly.
Step 1: Right-click Taskbar and choose Properties in the menu to open Taskbar Properties.
Step 2: In Taskbar Properties window, select Toolbars on the top, check the box before Desktop and tap OK to finish the setting.
Tips: What can you do when the taskbar is missing from the desktop?
1. Get it back by referring to How to Show Taskbar.
2. Enter Taskbar Properties by the other two different methods.
Way 1: Enter it from Search panel.
Step 1: Open Search panel with the composite key of Windows key+F, input taskbar in the blank box and select Settings to continue.
Step 2: In the left searching results, choose Taskbar to enter it immediately.
Way 2: Enter it from Control Panel.
Step 1: Open Control Panel, click Category beside View by on the top right, and select Small icons.
Step 2: In the small icons of all control panel items, find and click Taskbar.
From the following screenshot, you can find that the Desktop icon has shown up on the taskbar.
