The original homegroup password was automatically generated by the system when you finished creating a homegroup. Moreover, like user password or other kinds of codes, the homegroup password can be changed. For your convenience, this article will illustrate how to change homegroup password on Windows 8 computer at length.
Step 1: Go to the Search bar by Windows Key+F, type homegroup password in the box, choose Settings and tap Change homegroup password in the results.
Tip: To open the above setting, you can also get into the Control Panel, and click Choose homegroup and sharing options in Network and Internet.
Step 2: In the pop-up HomeGroup window, click Change the password to continue.
Step 3: In the Change Your Homegroup Password window, select Change the password to move on.
Step 4: Tap Next to use the new password given by the system, or type your desired password in the box and click Next.
When finishing the above 4 steps, you can see from the following picture that the homegroup password is changed successfully.
