Word allows you to include the video directly in the document. Then you don't need to click on the link to the video and launch a separate browser to watch it. Adding a YouTube video to a Microsoft Word document can be helpful. It can help you get your point across, or help with training. Using mixed media in Word documents is a great way to provide additional context to your work and make your documents more attractive. In this post, I will guide you step by step on how to insert a YouTube video into a word document.
Step 1: Open your browser ( e.g. Chrome or Microsoft Edge) and access the YouTube website.
Step 2: Search for the YouTube video you need to insert into your word document by typing the name of the video into the search bar. Click the search button or just press Enter.
Step 3: Select a video from the search results by clicking on it.
Step 4: Position the cursor to the address bar, and right-click and choose Copy.
Optionally, you can copy the embed code for the video. To get the embed code, first click on Share below the video.
In the pop-up share window, click Embed.
This action will show the Embed Video window. If you would like to start the video at a specific time, check the box next to Start at and enter the desired time. Then click Copy to save the code to the clipboard.
Step 1: Open your Word Document, in the top toolbar, click the Insert tab, and then select Online Videos in the Media section.
Step 2: This will pop up the Insert a video dialog box. Paste the video URL or embed the code in the text box and then click Insert.
Step 3: Once you have inserted the video into your document, you can use the picture tools to make formatting and layout options. For example, you can try using different text wrapping options. This will help you get the presentation you want for your document.
