The answer to the question above is absolutely yes. And the corresponding methods to hide and show drive letters in Windows 8 computer are illustrated as follows.

Step 1: Open Folder Options.
Right-click the File Explorer icon on the bottom left corner of desktop, choose View in the Libraries window and tap Options to open it.

Step 2: Modify related setting in Folder Options.
As the Folder Options window turns up, choose View on the top left, find and unselect Show drive letters in the Advanced settings, and click OK to have the drive letters hidden.
As exhibited in the screen shot below, the drive letters for all the hard disk drives in Computer are hidden.
Step 1: Open Folder Options.
Step 2: Change corresponding setting in Folder Options.
Select View, check the box before Show drive letters in Advanced settings and tap OK.
