"After using my Windows 8 computer for a long time, I find that there is a drop in its performance. Can anyone tell me how to solve the problem?"
Do you have a similar puzzle? Actually, this kind of problem is probably related with disk rubbish. To settle it, you need to clear the disk rubbish at fixed periods. However, how can you regularly clear hard disk? For your better reference, this article will show you how to make it through hard drive optimization.
Video guide on how to optimize hard drive on Windows 8:
Step 1: Open Charms Menu on desktop.
You can follow the two ways below to open Charms Menu (see the following picture).
Way 1: Move the mouse arrow to the upper right corner of the desktop.
Way 2: Press the hotkey of Windows key+C.
Step 2: Enter Settings.
Select Settings in the Charms Menu.
Step 3: Unfold PC info.
Choose PC info in Settings, as shown in the photo below.
Step 4: Open Performance Information and Tools.
In the System window, choose Performance Information and Tools on the bottom left corner.
Step 5: Display Advanced tools.
As the following interface appears, select Advanced tools in the left list.
Step 6: Open Disk Defragmenter.
Tap Open Disk Defragmenter in Advanced Tools window.
Step 7: Change the settings of a hard drive.
When the Optimize Drives window shows up, select a hard drive and click Change settings.
Step 8: Arrange optimization schedule.
In Optimization schedule, click the down arrow on the right of Frequency, and choose one from Daily, Weekly and Monthly. Later, click OK to complete the setting.
This method enables the computer to automatically and regularly optimize the hard drives on your Windows 8/8.1 PC. So you don't have to clean the disk rubbish manually by means of other disk cleanup tools.
