However, sometimes we may encounter a situation where there is no PrintScreen button, which will make us feel confused. Method 1: Use Win+Shift+S

Using the Windows built-in screenshot tool, Windows operating system provides a very convenient screenshot tool that can help you take screenshots easily. Press the Win+Shift+S key combination on your keyboard, the screen will be dimmed and a screenshot toolbar will appear. You can draw a shape to create a screen snip.

You can search the Snipping Tool in the Windows search bar directly. The Snipping tool can take screenshots with the mouse, without using the PrintScreen button.

Method 2: Remap PrintScreen Key

To solve the issue of without a PrintScreen button or the PrintScreen button being broken, you can remap the keyboard keys by using the PowerToys utility to replace the function of the PrintScreen key with another key.

PowerToys is a utility developed by Microsoft for the Windows operating system that can increase the efficiency of your work, and you can use the inbuilt utility to remap the PrintScreen key with PowerToys. To remap keyboard keys with PowerToys, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Download and install PowerToys from the official Microsoft PowerToys GitHub website.

Step 2: Once installed, open the PowerToys settings by right-clicking on the PowerToys icon in the system tray and selecting “Settings”.

Step 3: In the PowerToys settings window, click on “Restart PowerToys as administrator” under the General.

Step 4: Navigate to the “Keyboard Manager” section. Make sure the Enable Keyboard Manager button is “On”, and click on the “Remap a key” button to start remapping the PrintScreen key.

Step 5: In the Remap keys window, click on the “Physical Key” menu to select the key you want to remap. After selecting the key, choose the key you want to remap it to from the “Mapped To” menu. Then remember to click on “OK” to save the remapping.

Once you have finished remapping the keys, close the PowerToys settings window. Now, the selected keys on your keyboard will be remapped according to your configuration in PowerToys.

Method 3: Use On-Screen Keyboard

When you are without a PrintScreen button on your keyboard or your PrintScreen button is broken. Type “on-screen” on the Windows search bar to open the On-Screen Keyboard.

A keyboard will now appear on the screen and can be used to move around the screen. You can click PrtScn to take screenshots. The on-screen keyboard will remain on the screen unless you switch it off.
