Situation 1: Failed connection between the mouse and the computer
The mouse stops working due to the failed connection between the mouse and the computer. Typically, there are two main issues that contribute to this result. They are either the failure of the port or the failure of the mouse itself.

Check the port that the mouse plugs into, change the mouse to plug into another port to see whether it is the port fail the connection. 1. Go to Control Panel window, find and click Device Manager by typing it into the search bar located on the top-right side of the Control Panel window.
2. In the Device Manager window, find and click the option called Universal Serial Bus controllers.
3. In its sub-item list, find USB Root Hub and right-click it to open an option list. Go on by clicking Properties option.
4. In the Properties window, click the option called Power Management in the top bar. Find the checkbox labeled with Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power and set it to be faked and click OK. Repeat the same action to all the options called USB Root Hub under the parent item Universal Serial Bus controllers.
The wireless optical mouse may stop working due to several reasons like forgetting install the battery or out of battery, the distance between the PC and mouse beyond the useful remote distance and so on. But most possible reason is that the driver has not been updated, and we focus on this problem and offer the solution.
Situation: The wireless optical mouse driver has not been updated
The wireless optical mouse sometimes need a driver to motivate it. As a software of a computer, the driver may need to be updated regularly.
Solution for the wireless optical mouse driver updating
1. Go to the Device Manager and find the option called Mice and other pointing devices, choose the mouse you currently use and right-click it to open an option list, choose the option called Properties.
2. In the mouse properties window, choose the Driver button in the top bar. Click the button labeled with Update Driver to update.
