It may be known to you that cookies are files stored on your computer by websites to save preferences or improve website performance. Moreover, the cookies, together with other data, will be removed at the same time when you delete the browsing history in your PC. Supposing that you want to delete all other history except the cookies, do you know how to realize your goal? For your convenience, this article shows you how to prevent deleting cookies on Windows 8/8.1 computer.
Step 1: Access the Local Group Policy Editor.
Step 2: Find and open the setting named "Prevent deleting cookies".
FYI, the setting mentioned is located in Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Delete Browsing History.
Step 3: As the setting's window opens, choose Enabled and tap OK.
After enabling this setting, when you (or anyone else) go to remove the browsing history on your PC, the "Cookies and website data" item is non-editable. In other words, the cookies are preserved when you click Delete to delete browsing history.
