If you have set a screen saver in your computer to protect the display screen and haven't applied other measures to keep your PC safe, you can set screen saver password to prevent other people from getting into your computer directly through the screen saver. And this article will show you how to make it real on Windows 8 computer.
Step 1: Create a user/administrator password.
You can create it according to one of the following two methods.
1. PC settings/Users/Create a password
2. Control Panel/User Accounts and Family Safety/User Accounts/Manage another account/Choose a user or administrator/Create a password
Tips: Suppose you have already created such a password, you can go to step 2.
Step 2: Open Personalization through searching.
Press Windows+F hotkeys to open the Search bar, input personalization in the search box, choose Settings and click Personalization in the left results to open it.
Step 3: Find and open Screen Saver in Personalization window.
Screen Saver is located at the bottom right corner, and you can open it by a simple click.
Step 4: Require displaying logon screen on resume in Screen Saver Settings.
As the Screen Saver Settings window pops up, check the box before On resume, display logon screen and tap OK to confirm the setting.
Later, if anyone wants to access the computer through screen saver, the logon screen will show up and require entering password.
PS: Maybe you are doubting whether this method works or not, because a password will also be requested when you want to enter the computer through the lock screen if a user/administrator password exists. However, even though you make your computer wake up without password, the logon screen requiring a password will show up if you set a screen saver password by this way.
