Many Windows 11 users want a windows 11 transparent taskbar, which makes a more concise desktop, and a full-screen wallpaper without occlusion. A completely transparent taskbar in Windows 11 involves adjusting some settings. Here’s how you can achieve this:
Step 1: Press Win + I to open Settings, click on "Personalization" in the left sidebar. Then click on "Colors".
Step 2: Enable "Transparency Effects" to achieve a semi-transparent taskbar.
Step 1: Press Windows + U to open "Accessibility" settings. Navigate to "Visual effects".
Step 2: Turn off "Transparent effects".
Note:These two methods above can reduce the transparency of the taskbar in windows 11, but may not work when software is in full-screen mode.
Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box, type "regedit", and press Enter key to open the Registry Editor.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor Window, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Step 3: Right-click on the empty space in the right pane, choose "New" > "DWORD(32bit) Value" to create a new DWORD value.
Step 4: Rename the new DWORD value to "UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency".
Step 5: Double-click on "UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency", set the "Value data" to 1, and then click "OK" to save the changes.
- Use 1 to enable transparency effects.
- Use 0 to disable transparency effects.
Step 6: Restart your computer for the transparent taskbar to take effect.

Step 3: Click "Continue", and you'll notice the taskbar has turned transparent.

If you want the taskbar to remain transparent when other windows are open, such as when word window opening:
Step 1: Right-click on the software icon in the system tray. From the options menu, choose "Start Opened", and then select "clear" to enable it.
Step 2: Similarly, ensure that "Task View Opened", "Maximized Windows", and others are set to "Clear" as well.
If you notice reduced transparency effect when opening browser windows:
Step 1: Right-click the software icon and select "Maximized Windows" from the options list. Click on "Accent Color".
Step 2: In the window that appears, drag the opacity slider to the lowest position and click OK.
If windows 11 transparent taskbar not working after installing this tool, try uninstalling recent Windows updates. After restarting your computer, it should work as expected.
