By default, Windows will automatically check for problems of Windows Update, Network firewall, Windows Troubleshooting and other items, and then send you a message if problems are found. If you would like to know how to hide or show such messages on your PC, this article will illustrate how to turn security and maintenance messages off or on in Windows 10 for your reference.
Step 1: Open Control Center and click System & Security.
Step 2: Go to click Security and Maintenance.
Step 3: Click Change Security and Maintenance settings on the left side. Then you can turn off or on security and maintenance messages.
1. Deselect security and maintenance messages of the items provided, and click OK.
2. Select items offered in Security messages and Maintenance messages, and then hit OK.
You can use this method to make notification message not displayed in the notification area. But you can still see the message when it shows up.
Step 1: Open Local Group Policy Editor.
Step 2: Head to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar. Then double-click on Remove Notifications and Action Center on the right panel.
Step 3: If you want to turn security and maintenance message off, you should choose Enabled option and then click Apply and OK button to save the changes. If you want to turn on security and maintenance message, you need to select Disabled and then save the changes.
