Windows 10 adds badge icons for universal apps pinned to the Taskbar. While you can't turn icon badges on and off for individual apps, you can show or hide app badges if you want.
And now let's talk about how to show or hide app badge on Windows 10 taskbar.
Step 1: Find Windows Settings by clicking Start and then clicking the Settings button (or by pressing Win + I keys combination on your keyboard). On the main settings screen, click "Personalization".
Step 2: On the left-hand of the Personalization page, find "Taskbar" and click it.
Step 3: On the right side of the page, scroll down and turn off (or on) the "Show badges on taskbar buttons" switch.
Tip: You can now enjoy your nice, boring taskbar icons once again. and if you want to hide the app badge in taskbar, just repeat the same process above and turn off the Show badges on taskbar.
