In most editions of Windows 10, you are allowed to password protect your hard drive with Bitlocker Drive Encryption. For more security, you can also set a BitLocker PIN when encrypting Windows system drive (C:) with BitLocker. Both BitLocker PIN and password can protect the data on Windows computer well. But what if you want to change the BitLocker PIN or password to a new or longer one? This article introduces four effective ways to change BitLocker PIN or password in Windows 10 for your reference.

You can reset the BitLocker PIN or password by Control Panel and the steps are almost the same. Here are how to reset BitLocker password by Control Panel.
Step 1: Open Control Panel. Click the button next to View by and select Large icons. Then click BitLocker Drive Encryption option.
Step 2: Click the BitLocker drive to open the collapse menu and click Change password option. (If the Bitlocker drive is locked, you need to unlock it at first.)
Step 3: On a new window, type the old password and new password. Then click Change password button.
At last, a message prompts the BitLocker password has been successfully changed. That's all.

If you need to change the BitLocker password, you should unlock BitLocker drive at first. Then follow the steps below:
Step 1: Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
Step 2: Type manage-bde -changepassword <drive letter> command and hit Enter. (<drive letter> means the letter of BitLocker drive)
Step 3: Type the new password for BitLocker and hit Enter.
Step 4: Type the same password again to confirm and hit Enter.
Notes: When you are typing the password, any change will not be displayed in the interface, which doesn't mean that the input is invalid.
Finally, password ID is shown on the interface and it means that the BitLocker password has been successfully changed.
Step 1: Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
Step 2: Type manage-bde -changepin c: command and hit Enter.
