Supposing that you want to change the order of day, month and year in the date, or would like to change the format of hour and minute in the time which is displayed on the bottom-right corner in your Windows 10 computer, you can achieve your goal by changing date and time formats. As for how to do that, two practical ways are introduced below.
Step 1: Click the lower-left Start button, type date and time in the Start Menu's search box, and tap Change the date and time format in the results.
Step 2: In the Change date and time formats settings, select the date format and the time format you like.
Tips:
1. In date formats, the meaning of the notifications is as follows.
d, dd=day; dddd=day of week; M=month; y=year.
2. In time formats, the meaning of the notifications is as below.
h=hour; m=minute; s=second; tt=AM or PM; h/H=12/24 hours; hh, mm, ss=display leading zero; h, m, s=do not display leading zero.
Step 1: Tap the Start button, enter date and time in the search box, and click Date and Time.
Step 2: Select Change date and time in the Date and Time window.
Step 3: Tap Change calendar settings to continue.
Step 4: In the Customize Format window, choose new date format.
Step 5: Click Time, select new time format and tap OK.
Tip: You can also close the Customize Format window, and then change date and time formats at one time in the Region window, as shown in the following picture.
You can also restore the date and time formats on Windows 10.
Step 1: Open Control Panel.
Step 2: Click Change date, time, or number formats.
Step 3: Open Additional settings in the Region dialog.
Step 4: Choose Time and tap Reset in the Customize Format window to restore the system default settings for time and date.
Tip: Selecting Date and clicking Reset in the same window can help you achieve the same goal.
Step 5: Select Yes to confirm removing all customizations for the current format.
After these steps, the formats of date and time will be restored to the original settings.
