It is quite normal for GPU running at 100 when playing large games, so there is no need to worry too much. There are several factors that affect GPU usage: the computer’s graphics card, operating system, and the game you’re playing. Here are four ways to reduce GPU usage on your computer so that it won’t always take up too many system resources to shorten the life of your GPU.
Step 1: Right-click the taskbar and open the task Manager.
Step 2: Click the Process tab in the top menu. If GPU usage no display, right-click on the upper bar and enable the GPU.
Step 3: Find the application with the highest GPU usage, right-click it, and select "End Task".
The outdated and faulty of GPU driver can cause the high GPU usage. Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall and replace your current graphics driver.
Step 1: Download DDU from the official website and run it after setting up.
Step 2: Click Select device type and choose GPU from the drop-down list.
The higher game resolution is, the more GPU consumes. The following steps do help to adjust the graphic settings in your game:
Step 1: Open the Settings of the game you are playing and then go to video Settings.
Step 2: Change the Graphics Quality setting from High to Medium or Low.
Step 3: Turn on "V-Sync" to limit the frame rate based on the refresh rate of the monitor.
Different games have different picture resolution Settings, so experiment with different options and choose one that provides the best performance while balancing CPU usage.
If you have an Nvidia GPU, you can adjust some Settings to reduce GPU usage. Nvidia GeForce Experience is a companion application with Nvidia GPU that you can use to update drivers, adjust configurations, and more.
Step 1: Download and install GeForce Experience if it is not already installed on your PC.
Step 2: Launch GeForce Experience from the taskbar or use search.
Step 3: Click the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
Step 4: Go to "In-game Overlay" > "Settings" > "Finished".
Step 5: Turn off Instant Replay by clicking and changing it to "Off".
Step 6: Click Settings > Privacy Control > Desktop Capture.
