When your laptop is slowing down and always getting 100% usage of disks, it is necessary to upgrade your HDD to SSD, such as the Samsung SSD. In this circumstance, most of the people like to clean-install the Windows 10 to a new drive. However, things can get messy because all programs need to be reinstalled to the new SSD. Therefore, it must be great that Windows 10 can be transferred from HDD to SSD. And here are two ways for you to transfer Windows 10 from HDD to SSD easily and safely.
Step 1: Connect the SSD to your Windows 10 computer correctly.
Step 2: Access Disk Management and right-click the connected ssd to choose Initialize Disk.
Step 3: Initialize the SSD with MBR or GPT partition style and hit OK.
Step 4: Right-click the unallocated space of the SSD and select New Simple Volume to add volumes to the SSD.
If you replace the HDD with a Samsung SSD, it could be convenient to transfer data between them with Samsung Data Migration software and here's the tutorial on using it.
Step 1: Download Samsung Data Migration software and then install it in your computer.
Step 2: Run the software and tap Start button in the lower right corner of its interface to move on.
Step 3: Before cloning the Windows 10, it's recommended to backup the data in the Samsung SSD first, because this cloning operation will format the Samsung SSD. And you also need to close the current running programs. After you click Start button, a prompt will be popped out to remind you the information above. If you have prepared well, you can select Yes to run the operation.
Step 4: Once you confirm to transfer Windows 10 from HDD to SSD, the software will begin cloning.
Step 5: When Windows 10 is cloned successfully, you can see a prompt – The data on the source disk has been successfully cloned to your Samsung SSD in the user window. At that time, you can restart your computer and start your computer from the Samsung SSD.
Although Samsung Data Migration software is useful, it's a pity that this software just services for Samsung SSDs. Therefore, it's better to ask for help from a general tool which can transfer the Windows system from one drive to another easily and without data loss. iSunshare CloneGo is the right one.
