Create a Drop-down List Calendar in Excel 2007,2010,2013

When editing Excel, we usually need to add some date to the excel table to identify different work with different dates. Usually, we add those dates manually, but there is a way to select a date from a calendar so that we can save our hand from typing words or prevent wrong typing of date in Excel. Now we would show you the way to create a drop-down list calendar in Excel.

Here we would show you creating a drop-down list calendar from Developer tab on the Excel ribbon. Due to the difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010,2013, we would show different ways to show developer tab in Excel ribbon.

In Excel 2007, if you never show Developer tab on the Excel ribbon before, you can navigate to the Office button and select Excel Options. Then select Popular in the right bar of the Excel Options dialog and check the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon box. Last, click OK.

For Excel 2010 and 2013, just navigate to the File item, then find and click Options. In the coming dialog, first click Customize Ribbon, then just find Developer item in the left part of the Customize Ribbon section. Click Add button to add the Developer item to the right part and click OK.

Now you can see that the developer item is shown on the ribbon.

Click the Developer item and select the Insert option in its subcategory. Find the icon labeled with More Controls.

In the More Controls dialog, just select Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 and then click the OK button.

Then draw the drop-down list calendar to the worksheet where you want it to appear, and resize the box with dragging its corner. Right-click the drop-down list calendar and click Properties from the list. In the Properties dialog box, enter a specific cell in the LinkedCell box, and then close the dialog, you would find the date would be displayed in the specified cell.
