Q: I’ve been looking to set up my iPhone to automatically answer calls so I don’t miss important ones when I’m driving or busy. Is this possible?
Of course, there is iPhone answer call hands-free ways for you to handle iPhone calls. Setting answer calls on iPhone can also ensure you never miss an important call. Follow along to learn iPhone incoming call settings.
This allows your iPhone to automatically answer incoming calls after a set period. It is particularly useful when you’re using your device with headphones or in hands-free mode, as you can set it to answer in the headset or speaker mode.
Step 1: Locate the Settings app on your iPhone’s home screen and tap on it to open.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Accessibility.
Step 3: Under the Accessibility menu, find and tap on Touch.
Step 4: Within the Touch settings, scroll down to find Call Audio Routing. Tap on it to proceed to the relevant options.
Step 5: Here you can choose answer mode, including Automatic, Bluetooth Headset and Speaker.
Notes: For you always have the headphone attached, it would be nice for you to choose answering iPhone with headphones options, so that it would not bother others when making a call.
Step 6: Tap on Auto-Answer Calls. You’ll be directed to a new screen where you can toggle the feature on.
Step 7: After enabling Auto-Answer Calls, you will see an option to set a time delay. This is the amount of time your iPhone will wait before automatically answering an incoming call. You can choose from options like 3, 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds, depending on your preference.
Step 8: Once you’ve set the desired delay, exit the Settings app. Then your iPhone answers by itself after the specified time period and automatically answer calls when connected to Bluetooth.
Using Siri to answer calls by simply speaking a command when a call comes in.
Step 1: Firstly, ensure Siri is activated on your iPhone. Go to Settings, then tap Siri.
Make sure Listen for "Hey Siri" is enabled.
Step 2: When a call comes in, you can say "Hey Siri, answer the call" to have Siri handle the call for you. Or say "Hey Siri, decline the call" to hang up.
Tips: You can also enable "Announce Calls" feature in Siri & Search settings to let Siri tell you who’s calling and decide whether to answer.
With the "iPhone Cellular Network Calls" feature, you can receive iPhone calls on your Mac and iPad at the same time when they are on the same network.
This requires your Mac, iPhone, and iPad to meet the "Continuity" requirements, and all of them are signed in with the same Apple ID, having the "FaceTime Calls" enabled with the same Apple ID. And most importantly, they must be connected to the same network.
Step 1: Set up iPhone: Go to Settings -> Apps-> Phone.
Tap on "Calls on Other Devices" option, choose to turn on "Allow Calls on Other Devices".
Step 2: Set up iPad: Navigate to iPad Settings, then tap on FaceTime, enable "Calls from iPhone".
Step 3: Set up Mac: Click to open FaceTime, click on "FaceTime" in the menu, then go to Preferences and check "Calls from iPhone" option.
Step 4: When someone calls your iPhone, your Mac and iPad will show a notification, which you can use to answer the call.
You can also enable Wi-Fi calling on your iPhone, which allows you to answer iPhone calls on other devices even if your iPhone is turned off. Simple open iPhone Settings, and tap on Phone, then Wi-Fi Calling. Toggle on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone switch.
When the iPhone is locked and a call comes in, you can only choose "Slide to Answer" to accept the call. While the phone is locked, you can also end the call by pressing the "Power Button" on the side of the device twice.
Once the iPhone is unlocked, the call screen will display options to accept the call or decline to reject call on iphone.
Step 1: Go to iPhone Settings > Accessibility > Touch.
Step 2: Then tap on Call Audio Routing, then Auto-Answer Calls.
Step 3: Toggle off the Auto-Answer Calls option.
Do Not Disturb Mode: Consider using the Do Not Disturb mode to manage call interruptions. This can be configured in Settings under Focus > Do Not Disturb.
Call Blocking & Identification: If you receive unwanted calls, you can use Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification to manage and block Phone Calls.
Voicemail Setup: Make sure your voicemail is set up correctly in Settings > Phone > Voicemail to ensure you don’t miss important messages.
