There’re many ways to rotate screen in iPhone/iPad:
Both iPhone and iPad can auto rotate its screen between Portrait and Landscape. Here’s how:

Step 2: Hold your iPhone or iPad devices in Landscape mode. Then iPhone automatic screen rotation will be done at instant.
Step 3: To revert it, just turning your device back to Portrait mode.
If the Acceleration Sensor in your Apple device is corrupted, it may won’t detect which orientation that you’re holding your iPhone/iPad. Then you can use Assistive Touch to help.
Step 1: Before start, you should turn on Assistive Touch first. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, and then toggle it on.
Step 2: Tap on the floating button, and then tap on Device.

For iPhones and iPads with Face ID:
Step 1: Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open the Control Center.
Step 2: Tap on the Orientation Lock icon (a padlock with a circular arrow around it).

For iPhones and iPads with Home Button:
Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center.
Step 2: Find the Orientation Lock icon and tap it to toggle the lock off.

For some older iPads, there’s a Side Switch for iPad Lock Rotate quickly. Just follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to iPad Settings > General, under the Use Side Switch to section, select Lock Rotation.
Step 2: Then flip the side switch to on to stop iPad auto rotate, and to off to auto rotate the screen of iPad.
Someone may find that iPhone/iPad Rotation not working as expected. Here’re some fixes for it, but check the following reasons first:
1. Orientation Lock: If the orientation lock is enabled on your iPhone or iPad, it will prevent the screen from rotating.
2. App Restrictions: Some apps only work in Portrait or Landscape mode. For example, some games or apps like Instagram are locked to Portrait mode by default.
Restart your iPhone or iPad to check if this issue persists:
To restart an iPhone or iPad with Face ID: Press and hold the side button along with the volume up or down button. Then slide to power off and turn the device back on.
To restart an iPhone or iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (or side) button until the "slide to power off" slider appears. Slide to power off, then turn the device back on.
Display Zoom may affect display rotate on iPhone Pro/iPhone Pro Max/iPad, try to reset it to dafault:
Step 1: Open Settings, scroll down and tap on Display & Brightness.
Step 2: Locate the Display Zoom option, tap to enter into it. Select Default or Standard instead of Larger Text or Zoomed (depending on your device versions).
Tips: If the fixes above don’t work, try to upgrade your iPhone/iPad to newest version, or reset your iPhone/iPad settings.
