AirDrop is a powerful feature on iPhone and iPad that allows users to wirelessly transfer files, photos, and other content between Apple devices.
If you're looking to personalize your AirDrop experience, you’ve come to the right place. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the steps required to change AirDrop sound on your iPhone or iPad.
AirDrop notifications are typically accompanied by a distinct sound that alerts you when someone nearby is trying to share content with you.
Before iOS 14, you can change your AirDrop sound to a nondefault one. After iOS 15, this option to customize AirDrop sounds directly through iOS settings has been removed. However, there are some workarounds and tips to help you manage your AirDrop notifications more effectively.
Step 1: Open Settings, choose "Sounds" (or “Sounds & Haptics” in some iOS versions).
Step 2: Tap on AirDrop, and then select a tone that you preferred in the list provided.
Although Airdrop sound options on iOS 15 and older version is not visible, you can still manage your overall notification settings to change AirDrop notifications sound.
Step 1: Launch the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap on "Sounds & Haptics".
Step 2: Here, you can modify the sounds for different types of notifications such as ringtones, text tones, and email alerts.
While you can’t change the AirDrop sound directly, lowering the volume or choosing tones for other notifications might help reduce the impact of AirDrop notifications.
Step 3: Go back to the main "Settings" menu and select "Notifications". Adjust the notification style to suit your preferences. You can choose how alerts appear, such as through banners, alerts, or notifications in the Notification Center.
If the primary concern is avoiding interruptions from AirDrop notifications, consider using the "Do Not Disturb" feature.
Step 1: Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open the Control Center.
Step 2: Tap on the crescent moon icon to activate "Do Not Disturb".
Step 3: For more control, go to "Settings" > "Focus" > "Do Not Disturb". Here, you can schedule Do Not Disturb times or customize settings to allow calls and messages from certain contacts while silencing others.
To use AirDrop, make sure both devices are running iOS 7 or later and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: On iPhones with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center.
Step 2: Long-press the network settings tile until additional options appears.
