If you previously synced your iPod to iTunes, restoring lost music is straightforward. But you should ensure that the missing songs are still available in your iTunes library.
With iCloud, you can store and access all of the music you purchase in the iTunes Store on all of your devices. And we know that previously purchased content will appear within the purchased section of the iTunes app as long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase the content. So when iPod music lost, you can try to recover iPod lost music from iCloud with Apple ID.
Step 1: Sign in to iCloud service with Apple ID. Go to Settings - iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID and the password.
Step 2: Launch the iTunes app iTunes Store from your device's Home screen. Then tab Purchased and select Not on This iPod.
Step 3: You will see all music purchased by you but not on device currently. Select the artist you want to download songs from. (There are no songs listed there because I have not purchased music in iTunes Store.)
Step 4: Tap Download All button to download all purchased music. Or you can select a specific song you want to download by clicking the iCloud icon next to it.
With Family Sharing on iPod, we can share purchased content with other members of family. Whenever a family member buys a new song or album, everyone else can download and enjoy it. So if you other members of your family have ever purchased the same songs your iPod lost, or they have downloaded your iPod music, now you can download iPod songs from other family members again.
To download songs purchased by other members of your family, go to iTunes Store, tap More - Purchased, then choose a family member.
