To help its phone users protect their data, Google has developed several ways to lock and encrypt its Android handset-Google Pixel phone. And in the following part, we will talk about how to lock and encrypt Google Android phone in details for your reference.
Path 1. Use Standrad Lock-Pattern/PIN/Password
Step 1: When your Android phone is open, choose Settings Security on it.
Step 2: In Screen security section, there is a Screen lock option. Tap it and all available ways will be shown.
Step 3: Choose a screen lock way (e.g. Pattern) and follow the wizard to set details until tap OK.
Step 4: After you set your Android phone locked with Pattern, PIN or Password, you would need to unlock your Android phone with them when the screen is locked or it is powered on.
Path 2. Use Fingerprint Unlock
Step 1: Access Settings menuselect Security & locationtap Nexus Imprint.
Step 2: If there isn't screen lock in your Google phone, you need to set a backup password/PIN/pattern.
Step 3: Choose the notification preferences and tap Done. Then, put your finger on the phone sensor and make your finger be fully scanned.
Path 3. Use Face Unlock
Step 1: Head to Settings app, choose Security and tap Face unlock. After that, enter your screen lock PIN/password/pattern.
Step 2: Follow the screen steps to set up the face unlock.

Step 1: Choose Settings Security on the Android phone. Under Encryption option, tap Encrypt phone.
Step 2: Then a new screen will show you what you can encrypt on your Android phone and how to unlock or decrypt the phone after you encrypt it. If you can be sure, tap ENCRYPT PHONE.
Step 3: Type a complicated password to encrypt your phone and tap NEXT. When there is a new prompting message popping up, you have to confirm that you really want to encrypt the phone because the encryption operation is irreversible and if you interrupt it, you will lost data. Then tap ENCRYPT PHONE button again.
Step 4: Android phone will restart and be encrypted with the password you just set.
