Many people forgot the administrator password for server 2016 and asked for help on Microsoft, HP, DELL or Lenovo forums. Here I want to show you two common solutions to reset the forgotten password for Windows server 2016 or other Windows servers.
1. Reset server 2016 admin password with Windows setup disk
2. Reset Windows server 2016 forgotten password with business software
Note: If your Windows server 2016 is installed on the Raid computer, the Windows 10 setup program will not detect the hard drive and server 2016 system. So, if you are able to get a Windows server 2016 iso image, I recommend you to create a Windows server 2016 setup disk. Because the Windows server 2016 setup disk has better compatibility than the Windows 10 setup disk on the server computer.
Step 1 Create the Windows 10 USB Setup disk.
Microsoft offers customers a tool named MediaCreationTool for creating the Windows 10 USB setup disk. See how to Create Windows 10 installation media.
Step 2 Boot your Windows server computer from the USB setup disk.
Start the server computer. When the vendor logo appears, press the Boot Menu Key to enter the Boot Menu, then choose the USB drive to boot from.
Tips: USB DISK Pro (3800MB) and UEFI: USB DISK Pro (3822MB) are able to boot from the Windows 10 USB setup disk.

Step 3 When the Windows 10 or Windows 2016 setup program starts, please choose Repair windows, then run Command Prompt.
Step 4 On the command prompt, run the following command:
Step 5 On the login screen, press the "shift" key continuously more than 4 times until the command prompt appears, then run the net user command to reset a new password for administrator account or other user accounts. Tips: To meet the password policy, the new password must longer than 10 characters and contain numbers, lowercases, uppercases.
Success is coming... Close the command prompt, then you can login with the new password.
Note: You must run the Windows setup program and go to command prompt to undo the rename operation.
