Forgot the Windows 10 ThinkPad or IdeaPad password and can't log in your Lenovo laptop? The common and best way to unlock the Lenovo ThinkPad or IdeaPad should be resetting the forgotten password. As we all know, the password reset disk is the most effective and common tool used to reset the Windows password when locked out of PC/laptop/tablet. However, if there is no password reset disk, how can we do? Here, two ways would help you effectively reset the forgotten Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad password for Windows 10.

Step 1: On a workable Windows computer, download and install iSunshare Password Genius.
Step 2: Plug an empty USB flash drive into the workable computer and burn it as a bootable USB drive for Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad laptop password reset.
Step 3: Insert the bootable USB drive into the locked Lenovo ThinkPad or IdeaPad and then boot the Lenovo laptop from the USB drive.

To reset the Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad password via the Command Prompt, you need to create a Windows 10 installation disk or WinPE drive firstly.
Step 1: Connect the Windows 10 installation disk/WinPE drive to the locked Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad and then boot the locked Lenovo laptop from it.
Step 2: Enter the Command Prompt for Windows 10 installation media by pressing Shift+F10. If the connected media is a WinPE drive, the Command Prompt will be shown directly. After opening the Command Prompt, input the commands as follows to rename the cmd.exe to the osk.exe.(c is the system disk.)

Step 3: In the login screen, click the Ease of Access option and select On-Screen Keyboard. After that, type the command in the following screenshot to reset the forgotten Lenovo password. And you can unlock your Lenovo ThinkPad or IdeaPad with the new Windows 10 password now.
Note: After successfully resetting the Windows 10 password, please remember to boot the unlocked Lenovo ThinkPad/IdeaPad from the WinPE drive or installation disk again to rename the osk.exe to the cmd.exe.
